Watch Merchant Insurance
Insure your watch with Watch Merchant and Ripe Insurance
We know how important your watches are to you. We understand that your watches may have been collected over time and hold personal and sentimental, as well as financial, value. We appreciate that you need extensive, around-the-clock insurance protection, home and away that suits your lifestyle. We’ve designed bespoke watch insurance for Watch Merchant customers to provide worldwide cover against loss, theft or accidental damage for watches valued up to £50,000.
Why insure your watch?
You’ll be well aware of how desirable luxury watches can be. They are often targets for thieves as they are high-value items which are difficult to trace and are easily sold on the black market. When being worn they can be lost or damaged by being knocked against objects or smashed by being dropped. Whether your watch is of financial or sentimental value, having to replace it due to loss, theft or damage could be a real headache. Our insurance cover makes replacement easy. Our claims team’s watch and jewellery network gives us access to the leading suppliers of watches and to make replacing your precious items a smooth and stress-free experience.
What does Watch Merchant watch insurance cover?
Most luxury watch owners enjoy wearing their watches and don’t want to keep them locked up or left in a safe place at home. Peace of mind of having the right insurance cover in place will enable you to make the most of your watch, wearing it whenever you want and wherever you go. Whether you are at home, at work or on holiday, our policies provide cover against accidental damage, loss and theft for watches valued between £1,000 and £50,000. Our cover is worldwide which means you can take your watches with you at all times, without the worry.
Why specialist watch insurance is better than home insurance
In theory, your home insurance might cover your watch whilst it is in the home. Although, if your watch is of high value there might be an additional premium to include it. Most household policies will also exclude cover whilst you are away from the home, which means your watch will be at risk whenever you are wearing it at work, on holiday or when you are out and about. Adding expensive watches to your home insurance is also likely to increase your premium considerably, meaning that specialist cover is usually a cheaper and better solution for insuring your watch.
What type of watches can I insure?
Watch Merchant insurance covers all watch makes and models valued between £1,000 and £50,000. This makes it a perfect solution to cover your watch collection, including brand new watches or pre-owned vintage watches. Watch Merchant insurance covers all of the most popular watch manufacturers including Rolex, Breitling, TAG Heuer, Cartier, IWC and Patek Philippe.
Our Anti-Fraud Policy keeps our premiums low and our policyholders protected
Here at Ripe, we want to protect and support our policyholders in case you’re ever unfortunate enough to have to make a claim. We always aim to settle genuine claims quickly and efficiently to the benefit of our customers.
Fraudulent claims increase premiums for everyone, so we want our genuine policyholders to know that we have a zero-tolerance approach. Claims which we identify as fraudulent are immediately reported to the Police Insurance Fraud Department (IFED) where they will be dealt with as a criminal act.
