Senior Marketing Executive - New Products



Job scope:

The primary purpose of the Senior Marketing Executive role is to bring new insurance products to market. In the next 3 years we have plans to launch a conveyor belt of new products covering various niche insurance areas in personal, business, sports and leisure markets. In this position, you will manage the end-to-end process of developing and launching new products. This will include competitor and market research, working with the internal design and IT teams to develop the new product websites, online customer journey and produce all marketing communications required for the launch phase. This role has plenty of scope for growth and development. It is a great opportunity for an experienced, organised, creative marketer to work strategically and collaboratively with all departments to support the growth ambitions of the business.


• Research the market and the competition and produce a marketing presentation that details the proposed messaging and USPs we should use to differentiate us from the competition

• Work with the Insurance Manager to understand the features of the new product and turn these into customer facing benefits

• Work with the Business Analyst to project manage the marketing actions required for product launches – the plans should detail all the stages required to launch the product within the agreed timescales

• Produce a site map for each new product detailing all the pages required and consider the customer journey

• Working with the Lead Designer and Digital Manager map out the quote and purchase journey for each new product

• Manage the development of the new website, including the structure, design and customer journey - using our CMS ‘Umbraco’ to upload and edit content

• Copywrite the content required for the new website with input from the SEO Manager on keyword structure to ensure the site is appropriately optimised

• Lead internal meetings with relevant stakeholders to ensure that the deadlines within the project plan are being met, and proactively manage any issues or obstacles as required

• Work with the Compliance and Customer Service teams to develop welcome emails/letters and all other customer facing communications required for launch

• Work with design and IT to test the new website and all triggered communications before launch


• To successfully launch new products to required timescales

• To understand the intrinsic nature of each new market before launch

• To be the voice of the consumer and always champion customer first thinking

• To ensure other departments are aware of timescales and briefed on any impacts they may have

• To positively contribute to team morale and manage internal and external stakeholders effectively

• Experience of launching and managing brands or products

• Knowledge of UX • Excellent creative assessment and copywriting skills

• Exceptional attention to detail

• Excellent command of English language – grammar, spelling and punctuation

• Ability to manage competing deadlines

• Ability to manage the demands of different stakeholders

• Able to work on own initiative

• Able to manage and deliver a wide range of projects and used to prioritising a large workload

• Experience of managing external suppliers


• Experience of working in an entrepreneurial B2C ecommerce environment

• Good understanding of the marketing challenges faced by medium sized e-commerce companies

• Strong leadership skills

• Experience of using a CMS

• Project Management experience or qualifications



5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade C or above including Maths and English

3 A levels (or equivalent) at grade C or above


Educated to degree level IDM / CIM Certificate or Diploma
