If something goes wrong with a client and they get injured or make a claim against you, Public Liability cover can provide financial help, so you are not left dealing with it on your own.
From acrylic to gel nails , your policy can be built to cover a variety of services.
If you employ nail technicians or beauty therapists, Employers’ Liability cover can be chosen, so you have protection in place to help if someone on your team is injured.
Running a nail salon means balancing creativity, precision and a busy environment. With specialist tools, electrical equipment and a constant flow of clients, no two days are the same. Small incidents, like spills, damaged equipment or problems involving staff or customers, can happen as part of everyday salon life.
Nail salon insurance by Ripe is shaped around how salons operate. It recognises the unique setup of nail salons and the responsibilities that come with running one, helping you feel more comfortable that your space, tools and people are supported.

Whilst the excitement of launching a salon is a major attraction for many nail technicians, becoming responsible for an entire business naturally comes with its own risks.
There are the more obvious issues to think about, such as theft, fire, or accidental injuries that could happen at any time and result in costly repairs or legal expenses. For example, if an employee were to slip on a wet floor and make a claim, or if the property you’re responsible for was damaged in a fire, these situations can quickly become expensive for a salon owner.
It’s also worth noting that any business employing staff is legally required to hold Employers’ Liability insurance, and in salon settings, this forms part of the overall protection a business may have in place. Nail salon insurance exists to reflect these kinds of real‑world risks and the responsibilities that come with running a salon.
Who is nail salon insurance designed for?Nail salon insurance is created with salon owners and salon‑based teams in mind. It can apply to traditional salons, standalone nail bars, beauty salons that offer nail services, and multi‑room setups where different treatments take place under one roof. It’s also relevant for salons with employees, rented treatment rooms, or multiple workstations.
Because each salon operates differently like from the number of clients you see to the equipment you rely on, insurance options exist to reflect those differences.
If you do not require nail salon insurance, Ripe also offers separate nail technician insurance for individual practitioners.
Many factors can affect the cost of your nail salon insurance, such as:
the number of staff you have
where your business is based
the type and level of cover you choose
Ripe strives to make insurance simple and believes you should only pay for the cover you need.
It’s a legal requirement to have Employers’ Liability insurance if you employ others. This can be included as an optional extra when you’re selecting your policy.
At Ripe, each nail salon insurance policy includes public liability, products liability, and treatment risk cover as standard.
You can select your policy to include various optional extras, so you only ever pay for the cover you need to manage your salon with peace of mind.
Public and products liability cover is designed to protect you from any third-party claims for injury or property damage arising from running your salon.
Say you spilt nail glue on a client’s expensive handbag, and they made a claim against you, public liability insurance could provide financial protection.
At Ripe, up to £1.25m of nail salon liability cover is included as standard, but you can opt for up to £10m of cover.
While it’s not compulsory, you might want to consider teaching cover to protect yourself against potential negligence claims.
Say one of your students fails to become qualified and sues you for the costs of retraining. Teaching cover could provide financial protection so the damage to your business and reputation is minimal.
