Camera insurance by Ripe can cover theft and accidental damage of your camera and photography equipment.

  • Flexible cover options – insure equipment, Public Liability, or both on one policy

  • Camera and photography equipment – theft and accidental damage up to £60k (New for Old for items up to 3 years old)

  • You can also opt to include theft and accidental damage to equipment outside of the insured location (i.e your home or studio) up to £30k. Equipment cover includes – cameras, lenses, tripods, cases, video and audio equipment, and accessories

  • Public Liability – protection against claims for injury to third parties or damage to their property

  • Loss isn’t included, as cover applies to theft and accidental damage only.

  • Yes. You can choose EU or worldwide cover, giving you protection for your equipment while shooting overseas for up to 45 days on any single trip and 90 days in any one policy year. 

  • They can be, provided they’re used primarily alongside your photography equipment. You can also add mobile phones and tablets as optional cover. 

  • Yes, if you add “theft from a vehicle” cover and meet the security requirements for storing equipment in your car. 

  • Home insurance may not cover professional use or high‑value kit when used away from your home. Specialist camera insurance is designed specifically for photographers who need dedicated protection for their equipment wherever they work. 

  • This only applies if you employ anyone as part of your photography or videography work. In that case, it’s a legal requirement.
