Holiday lodge insurance FAQs
  • We can arrange cover for properties manufactured within the last 20 years.

  • Through Ripe, holiday lodge insurance is designed for holiday homes only. This does not include residential park homes or holiday homes that are lived in year-round. The lodge must be used for holiday and recreational purposes and be sited on a park registered with the local authority and have a holiday licence.

If your lodge, cabin, or chalet is your permanent residence, unfortunately, we won’t be able to arrange a policy for you. However, we do have a separate park home insurance product for those who live on residential sites.

  • Yes—holiday lodge insurance arranged by Ripe covers the person who takes out the policy, their domestic partner, members of their family (or families) who are permanently living with them, and their foster children who live with them.

Friends and family outside this group will not be covered if you allow them to use your lodge unless you have included Rental Cover and Loss of Rent.

  • Yes—you can opt for Rental Cover and Loss of Rent to ensure your holiday lodge insurance policy includes this.

Your holiday home will be covered for loss, damage, or theft while it is rented to someone. It will also cover any loss of rent you may suffer whilst your lodge is out of use due to the damage.

The maximum amount which can be paid for loss of rent is £200 per week and £800 overall.
