While having insurance as a Reiki practitioner is not a legal requirement in the UK, you may want to consider getting specialist insurance to help provide financial protection should the worst happen.
You may also find that wellness centres and spas require that you have Public Liability insurance as a minimum before you can carry out your treatments on their premises.
Through Ripe, you can choose to add Business Interruption cover to your policy for an additional premium, which can help financially protect you and your business from loss of turnover if you can’t trade for a period of time. You can also choose to include Legal cover, which may be able to help cover the costs of defending or pursuing a claim.
If you employ other Reiki practitioners as part of your business, you’re legally required to have Employers’ Liability insurance as a minimum.
What is Public Liability insurance for Reiki practitioners?Public Liability cover can help financially protect you against third-party claims if you accidentally injure a client or damage their property during a Reiki treatment.
Through Ripe, £1.25m of Public Liability cover is included in your policy as standard, with the option to increase it to £10m.
Yes, you can obtain insurance if you’re training Reiki practitioners for an additional fee. However, it’s an optional extra, so you need to make sure you select it when you take out your policy; otherwise, you will not be covered.
The cost of a Reiki insurance policy through Ripe can vary depending on the type and level of cover you want, as well as which cover options you choose to include on your policy. To find out how much your cover could cost today, get a quick online quote on our website.
