While having insurance in place for your football club is not a legal requirement in the UK, you may want to consider getting specialist insurance to help provide financial protection should an accident occur.
FA affiliation is also mandatory in the UK to participate in competitive football, and it requires you to have Public Liability and Personal Accident cover as a minimum to be able to register with your local County Football Association and compete in local football leagues.
Lastly, if you employ any staff to help run your football club, you are legally required to have Employers’ Liability insurance as a minimum.
With a specialist football club insurance policy through Ripe, you have the option to include Member to Member Liability in your policy, which provides financial protection should one of your players injure another player while playing football, and they decide to make a claim against your club.
The cost of a football club insurance policy through Ripe will vary from club to club based on the type and level of cover you wish to purchase. The fastest way to find out how much your policy could cost is to get a football club insurance quote online today.
When you register your club with the FA, the cost of Public Liability cover is included in the affiliation fee, with the option to purchase Personal Accident insurance at an additional cost*. However, you may find you won’t have cover for:
Your building and its contents
Fixtures, fittings, and tenants’ improvements
Specialist and portable equipment
Stock
To include cover for the above, you may want to consider getting a specialist football club insurance policy.
