If you are renting space in a salon, you might be partially covered by the business’s insurance, so it is best to check with the salon first. You may want to ensure you are fully protected, you might want to consider your own insurance policy in place as well.
Public liability insurance can protect you, your employees and your business against legal action in the event of the following:
• where there is a treatment risk such as Illness or injury caused by a product you use or a business activity (e.g. a client suffers from an allergic reaction after a particular treatment)
• damage to someone’s property caused by a business activity such as getting bleach on a clients clothing
• an injury or accidental damage caused by someone you employ
Please note: If you employ anyone in your business, it is a legal requirement that you have employers’ liability insurance as well.
