What does Specialist Deer Stalking Insurance cover?
- Public Liability if you cause injury or property damage
We understand that most people who engage in deer stalking will know the dangers and take measures to reduce the risks involved. But when using a gun, you should go into every hunt knowing that accidents can happen, so it is vital to have Public Liability insurance.
Public Liability protects you if you injure someone else or cause damage to someone else’s property. For example, it is not unheard of that hunters have pulled the trigger as a result of seeing movement which has resulted in injury to others. Having Public Liability insurance protects you from claims such as these, so you can relax your mind and connect with your senses.
Our Public Liability insurance covers you up to £10 million should an accident happen, and you will also receive your own free personalised Public Liability confirmation card, so you have proof you’re protected every time you go on a shoot.
- Personal Accident if you require treatment
Accidents can happen to even the most experienced deer stalkers. Tree stand injuries, for example, are common and can cause serious neck, head or back injuries. Of course, other accidents can happen such as slips, falls or gun malfunctions. It is essential to protect yourself with our Personal Accident insurance, so you can hunt knowing you have us right there behind you should the unexpected happen.
- Our Personal Accident protection of up to £50,000 can help cover the costs if you have an accident whilst on a shoot, which results in death, loss of limbs, loss of hearing, loss of sight, permanent total disablement or you require dental treatment. We will also provide you with Event Fee Reimbursement of up to £500 should you be unable to attend a shooting event due to injury or illness up to 14 days immediately prior to the event start date.
Compensation for equipment repairs and replacements
We understand that deer stalking equipment is expensive with rifles sometimes costing over £10,000. With added accessories such as riflescopes that can cost £1,000 or more, binoculars and ammunition, it can be extremely costly if something were to happen to any of your kit.
That’s why we offer cover of up to £50,000 for all your equipment and up to £12,000 for a single item, to compensate you if your hunting equipment is stolen or accidentally damaged. Plus, if it’s less than three years old and was bought new, following a successful claim, it will be replaced with a brand-new item. Shooting equipment that is over three years old will be replaced at market value at the time of damage or loss.
On top of that, we will cover the costs of up to £200 for any equipment hire to ensure inconveniences like damaged or lost binoculars don’t get in the way of you bagging your stag!
- Additional cover
Worldwide - It is becoming more and more popular for hunters to travel to different areas to hunt each year. Whether you are venturing to Canada or Belarus to find your prize, our cover protects you wherever you are in the world. We provide Worldwide cover of up to 90 days per year, allowing you to explore new landscapes, observe a variety of deer and create incredible shooting experiences.
Excess Waiver - We offer an Excess Waiver, enabling you to save money should you make a claim, so you won’t have to pay any excess charges.
Legal protection - We’re here to help you, even in the toughest of times. Maybe you are refused the renewal of your firearm certificate, it has been revoked, or new conditions have been imposed, we know it is the last thing you want to deal with. That’s why we provide Legal protection of up to £100,000, to help you continue to participate in the sport you love.
Why should you choose Specialist Deer Stalking insurance if you have household insurance?
Our Specialist Deer Stalking insurance covers you both inside and outside of your home whereas household insurance often only covers you inside your home. Therefore, with us, if incidents happen on your hunt or equipment is stolen on your way to or from the hunt, you are protected. Although adding additional cover onto your household insurance could be an option, we let you tailor your cover so you only pay for what you need. After all, we know you would rather be spending your money on more hunting gear!
