Whether you’re an archery beginner and just focused on hitting the target, or you can hit the bullseye nearly every time, we know how satisfying archery can be. Those who participate in archery will take safety very seriously due to the nature of the sport, but unfortunately whether you are competing in tournaments or simply playing at the range for fun, accidents do happen. Perhaps you don’t notice something near your target before it’s too late, or someone else causes you an injury, it’s vital that you have Specialist Archery insurance to keep you protected from such claims.

- Up to £50,000 Personal Accident cover

What does Specialist Archery insurance cover?
- Public Liability if you cause injury or property damage
If you were to go to an archery club or shooting ground, many require you to have Public Liability insurance before you can take part. Public Liability gives you protection if a claim was made against you for injuring someone else or causing accidental property damage. For example, you may be liable if you misfire and hit a person or damage the shooting ground.
Our Public Liability insurance covers you up to £10 million, so you’re not left with a huge hole in your pocket should an accident happen. What’s more, you get a free personalised Public Liability confirmation card to show at shoots, competitions and clubs so nothing gets in the way of you hitting the target.
- Personal Accident if you require treatment
Archery is a sport that requires skill and time to see improvements, but even a highly skilled and experienced bowman will know that working with a bow and arrow could lead to injuring yourself. For example, the bow stringer could twist sending the back of an arrow into your eye. So why risk it? Protect yourself so you can aim for your target with a calm mind and a steady hand.
Our Personal Accident protection of up to £50,000 can help cover the costs if anything were to happen to you on a shoot which results in death, loss of limbs, loss of hearing, loss of sight, permanent total disablement, or you require dental treatment. We also provide Event Fee Reimbursement of up to £500 should you not be able to attend an archery event due to injury or illness up to 14 days immediately prior to the event start date.
- Compensation for equipment repairs and replacement
We recognise that most crossbow owners and archery enthusiasts will have collected lots of high-value equipment that allow them to compete and participate in the sport. As such, if your equipment was lost, damaged or stolen it could end up being quite costly to replace.
With our Specialist Archery insurance, your archery equipment will be covered up to a maximum of £50,000 for theft, loss and accidental damage both inside and outside of your home, and a single item is covered for up to £12,000.
Archery equipment is also replaced on a New-for-Old basis if the item is under three years old, providing it was bought new and subject to satisfactory proof of ownership. Archery equipment that is over three years old will be replaced on the indemnity value of that equipment at the time of damage or loss.
What’s more, we will cover the cost of any Equipment Hire of up to £200 to ensure inconveniences like damaged or lost arrows don’t get in the way of you participating in your next event.
- Additional cover
Worldwide - As an archery enthusiast or a competitive crossbow shooter, you may want to try out your skills on foreign shores, so we provide Worldwide cover of up to 90 days a year to cover yourself and your equipment abroad.
Excess Waiver - We offer an Excess Waiver, enabling you to save money should you make a claim because you won’t have to pay any excess charges.
Legal protection - We offer Legal protection of up to £100,000, which allows you to get legal advice and help should you need it.
Why should you choose Specialist Archery insurance if you have household insurance?
Common home insurance policies often have limited cover away from home or refuse to cover shooting equipment at all. Our Specialist Archery Insurance covers you for accidents that happen both inside and outside of your home, such as equipment stolen in transit to or from the archery venue, and equipment damage at the venue. We also pride ourselves on allowing our customers to get the cover that best suits them - you can tailor your insurance policy to fit your needs.
How much does specialist Archery insurance cost?
